Let’s Talk : Safe and Unsafe Touch 🗣️

Professor Tanushree Singh will be at Eureka to talk about safe and unsafe touch – the topics include what is allowed and what is not, what to do in a situation that is alarming and what to do if the adult who is approached for help does not believe the child’s account.

There will be two sessions led by Dr. Tanu Shree Singh,  Assistant Professor of Psychology, and author of Keep Calm, Mommy On. Session I will be for children and parents, while Session II will be for adults only. 

Session I: 1st September | 4 PM | Ages 5 & above and parents | Eureka Bookstore
Registration Fees: Rs. 200 for children  | Rs. 100 for adults.

Session II: 14th September | 4:30 PM | For parents | Eureka Bookstore  | Registration Fees: Rs. 200 for adults.

ZENTANGLING A TANGLE 🧶

Join us for a creative and heartwarming session in collaboration with Perky Parrot, an imprint of Niyogi Bookswith bestselling author Mamta Nainy as she brings her new book Why Are My Words Tangled? to life. Through Zentangling activities, storytelling, and drawing, young minds will discover the beauty in words, even when they seem tangled.

THE EUREKA QUIZ: Superhero & Fantasy Special 🦸🪄
 
Get ready with your thinking caps and sorting hats to test your knowledge of superheroes and fantasy worlds! This quiz is perfect for young fans who live and breathe epic tales of adventure. Teams will be formed on the spot, so just bring your enthusiasm and let the fun begin with Nimmi Chacko, Anupam Arunachalam and Ambareesh Mohanty!

A RECAP OF AUGUST !

Last month at Eureka was all about exchanging ideas, meeting new friends and sharing our love for books. From lively discussions to inspiring meet-ups, we’ve been immersed in the joy of storytelling and creativity. Here are moments that made this month special: 

A Global Gathering of Illustrators at Eureka!

We had the pleasure of hosting a talented group of illustrators from Switzerland, Egypt, and India. These young artists were part of an International Masterclass for Children’s Book Illustrators, led by Johanna Schaible who was a speaker at Bookaroo Delhi 2023 and  Hemali Sodhi, founder of A Suitable Agency, and supported by ProHelvetia Swiss Arts Council. The team stopped by Eureka exploring our collection and discussing their creative works.

Our directors, Swati Roy and Venkatesh, who had previously delivered a virtual talk on ‘The History and Evolution of Children’s Picture Books in India,’ were delighted to meet the cohort in person.  Glimpses from a truly enriching exchange of ideas and cultures!

Storytime Snippets

We had Vinita Zutshi, who brought Katherine Applegate’s world to life with The One and Only Family, a delightfully interactive session with reading, dancing, and acting. She also captivated us with Carlie Sorosiak’s Shadow Fox  to end the month. Pure joy to behold!

Priyanka Chatterjee aka Golpodidi captivated us with A Creepy Crawly Adventure with Golpodidi. It was a storytelling adventure to remember! 

Finally, we experienced Manipur Magic with Linthoi Chanu through folklores, quizzes and dances from the state. Catch glimpses of them all on our Instagram page!
